MTB Grand Edition 2019 Experience

The largest B2B event for the Polish meetings industry is completed!

26th edition of Meet The Bidder Grand Edition and 10th birthday of Travel Bidder!

Another special edition of the Meet The Bidder SMART Fairs took place on November 26. The event has been implemented for the Polish meetings industry continuously since 2011. Meet The Bidder Grand Edition has proved that, despite the development of innovative communication channels that make it easier to meet and cooperate between the customer and supplier, the MICE industry still focuses on interpersonal contact. All this effort to get the chance for B2B meetings to result in strong relationships, full of understanding of needs and mutual trust.

This time, the organizers of the MICE travel visited the Arche Krakowska hotel to meet with contractors from around the world (including DMC, convention bureaux, independent hotels and hotel chains, airlines, regional representatives of new investments), representing such destinations as Spain, Madagascar, China, Sri Lanka, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brazil and Amazonia, Central America, the United States and many others. The space favored for B2B meetings in a group of 115 Polish and foreign exhibitors and almost 180 buyers from Poland and around the world.

The formula of the event allowed the organizers to plan the list of preferred meetings in advance. Therefore, visitors selected contractors already at the stage of registering MTB participation, according to their home agency needs, e.g. the current marketing strategy of the agency, detailing offers responding to current queries or searching for inspiration and new directions. A special MTB application monitored the individual number of meetings between exhibitors and visitors, so that guests could qualify for prizes in the MICE Bingo game. Due to the variety and quality of rewards, each of 2 game views always evokes more and more emotions.

The fair part of the event was preceded by a presentation of the Substantive Expert – member of SOIT (Association of Incentive Travel Organizers), Krzysztof Pobożniak from Haxel Events & Incentive. The expert presented to the exhibitors the results of the "SOIT Barometer" – a survey of the Polish incentive market. The culmination of a series of engaging B2B meetings was the speech of Isabel Martín Benítez, representing Spain – the Diamond Partner of the event. Every trips organizer knows about the endless potential of the Iberian Peninsula, but they were surprised by the radical increase in popularity of regions and cities such as Galicia, Andalusia, Costa Blanca or Valencia and the surrounding area, accompanied by reasonable rates for flights and on-site services.

For the second time, the winter edition of MTB was accompanied by the Hosted Bidder Programme. This time it was attended by 26 buyers representing MICE agencies with high purchasing power from around the world – from Australia to the USA. In addition to participating in the Grand Edition MTB, guests learned for four days about the potential of Warsaw and Mazovia region as a destination for MICE events.

A day full of curiosities ended with a gala dinner at The Westin Warsaw hotel – Incentive Travel Excellence Night. During the event, more than 250 representatives of the world MICE industry established new business contacts in more informal circumstances and also celebrated the round 10th birthday of Travel Bidder. The evening was celebrated by a toast with traditional Polish vodka, as well as the Entertainment Partner of the event – Rock Your Business, who engaged guests for singing together polyphonically or mutual back massage to the rhythm of rock and rock'n'roll hits of all time. The evening agenda also included a moment for SITE (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence), which as the co-host of the ITEx Night gala announced the election of the new President of SITE Poland.

The event took place under the honorary patronage of the President of the Polish Tourism Organization and under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw. Aside Spain, the partners of the event were: SITE Poland (Industry Partner), THINK MICE (Main Media partner), SOIT (Substantive Expert), Tourism Organization of the Mazovia Region, Warsaw Tourism Organization, Full Screen, Rock Your Business, Arche Hotels (Hotel Arche Krakowska and Pałac i Folwark Łochów), The Westin Warsaw hotel, Narvil Conference & Spa hotel, Polish Vodka Museum, Mazurkas Travel Transport, Mazurkas Travel DMC, China Star, PLL LOT.
